Using the Calculator

This calculator provides both basic arithmetic and scientific functions. You can use either the on-screen buttons or your keyboard for faster calculations. The expression display shows your full calculation history, while the result display shows the current value or final result.

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Number keys — Press 0-9 and the decimal point (.) to enter numbers.
  • Operators — Use +, -, *, /, and % for basic operations.
  • Enter or = — Calculate the current expression.
  • Backspace — Delete the last entered digit.
  • Escape — Clear the entire calculation and start over.

Scientific Functions

  • √x (Square root) — Calculates the square root of the current number.
  • — Squares the current value.
  • 1/x (Reciprocal) — Calculates the inverse of the current number.
  • sin, cos, tan — Trigonometric functions. Note that these expect input in degrees.
  • log (base 10) — Calculates the common logarithm of the current value.
  • ln (natural log) — Calculates the natural logarithm (base e).
  • π — Inserts the mathematical constant pi (3.14159265...).
  • e — Inserts Euler's number (2.71828182...), the base of natural logarithms.
